- Vasopressin helps the kidneys conserve the correct amount of water in the body to regulate urine excretion.

- Oxytocin is responsible for stimulating the contractions of the smooth muscles in the uterus when giving birth and is also responsible for producing milk in the mammary glands.

9. Excess amount of ADH may cause Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion (SIADH).
10. Insufficient amount of ADH may cause Diabetes Insipidus.11-15.
Jorjina a 25 year old girl complains that she was always thirsty and that she was urinating very often. She also said that she had a bike accident bumping head first on the ground but she did not feel anything afterwards .
There was no sign of bleeding. What would be the most probable cause of her symptoms? What would be the probable diagnosis for Jorjina?16-20.
- Excessive thirst and urine production may be a cause of Diabetes Insipidus. Also, her bike accident could have her brain injured and brain injury can cause Diabetes Insipidus. Jorjina developed Diabetes Insipidus through brain injury. The diagnosis for jorjina was Diabetes Insipidus through brain injury.
Kimdrew a 45 year old construction worker who is a chain smoker complains about having seizures. He also stated that sometimes he is irritable and has personality changes.
Other symptoms of kimdrew were nausea and vomiting. What would be the cause of the said symptoms? What would be the diagnosis of the 45 year old construction worker?
- Kimdrew may have developed Lung cancer through smoking. These cancer produces Anti Diuretic Hormone (ADH). Production of ADH by the cancer may cause excessive ADH. An excessive ADH level is diagnosed by SIADH (Syndrome of Inappropriate Antidiuretic Hormone Secretion). Also, other symptoms of SIADH were nausea, vomiting, irritability, personality changes, such as combativeness, confusion, and hallucinations, seizures, coma and many more. The Diagnosis of the patient was SIADH which was caused by Lung cancer.
